Frequently Asked Questions

Juniors

Is Martial Arts a safe activity for my child?

Our team of certified instructors follow safety protocols to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students. In fact, unlike sports which has one adult supervising an entire team, we have multiple instructors monitoring a room at all times making sure everything runs smoothly. Especially considering the young age of students in our Junior Martial Arts class, your child will never be placed in a dangerous or uncomfortable situation.

Is Martial Arts Violent?

Martial Arts is often depicted as a violent activity but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The mindset behind martial arts involves harmony, peace, tranquility, and connection to the body. Our Junior Martial Arts training primarily circles (focuses) around movement and energy. The most we’ll do physically is stretching and cool poses and we forbid combat of any kind in our Junior classes.

How does Martial Arts help my child develop?

Other than essential movement and physical activity, martial arts also instills important life skills like discipline, honor, confidence, and respect. We also place great emphasis on balance, coordination, reflexes, memory, mental sharpness, communication, and behavioral skills to ensure we’re providing a valuable, transformative curriculum.

Can we try the program before signing up?

We encourage all parents to start out with a trial package. It’s important that students feel out our program before deciding and only continue if they’re absolutely certain martial arts is the right move. If after a trial package ends you’re not completely satisfied, we’re more than happy to issue a full refund. Parents are also more than welcome to sit in on a session before hand or reach out to our team for a deeper, more personal conversation.

Kids

Is Martial Arts Dangerous?

Although any sport or activity has some risk involved, our team of certified instructors follow safety protocols to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students. In fact, unlike sports which has one adult supervising an entire team, we have multiple instructors monitoring a room at all times making sure everything runs smoothly. We understand that each student has their own unique limits and we encourage rest and feedback during exercise.

Is Martial Arts Violent?

Martial Arts is often depicted as a violent activity but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The mindset behind martial arts involves harmony, peace, tranquility, and connection to the body. The majority of training circles around movement and energy. We teach kids how to talk through conflicts and seek the guidance of an adult with the authority to help. However, if an unavoidable violent situation arises in your child’s life, they now have the tools to fend off the attack and safely escape the situation.

Does my child need to be athletic to benefit from martial arts?

Our classes are tailored towards accommodating students regardless of their weight, age, abilities, or energy levels. Astonishingly, many of our students have tried sports and other athletic activities only to realize it’s not for them. Martial arts is often a sanctuary in these cases as competition is eliminated and each student only attempts what they feel comfortable doing.

How can Martial Arts prepare my child for life?

Other than training children in conflict resolution and self defense, martial arts also instills essential life skills like discipline, honor, confidence, and respect. The process of goal setting and working towards moving forward is extremely rewarding and causes a major shift in maturity.

What if my child doesn’t like it?

With any new activity, it’s common to face some resistance in the beginning. We make great efforts to keep classes fun and lighthearted but at the end of the day it’s also an educational experience. We encourage parents to give us a few sessions to get through to new students but in the event your child wants to cancel, we offer a full money back guarantee.

Teens

My teen lacks respect and doesn’t listen to me at all. Will this change that?

Not only are respect and discipline values we heavily emphasize in our curriculum, we also teach students to seek and appreciate the wisdom of elders so they never take parents or teachers for granted again.

Can this really impact my teen’s life?

Martial arts has been impacting people of all ages for generations. Its focus on mindset and energy is truly transformational and we’ve seen incredible results at our school time and time again. This may sound overly confident but we’re certain we’ll get through to your teen. And if for some reason your family decides not to continue with the trial we’ll issue you a full refund.

Does my child need to be athletic to benefit from martial arts?

Definitely. Not only are we teaching character traits to our students, the fast paced nature of sessions teaches teens to make crucial decisions faster. Your teen will live in the present and use these decision making skills in all aspects of life.

My teen isn’t consistent with anything? How will Martial Arts be any different?

We can’t guarantee that everyone will make a commitment and stick to it, but we know with absolute certainty that the students that give it a fair chance tend to benefit greatly. Our team encourages students to stay persistent and determined to achieve their goals and we kindly ask parents to help motivate teens to keep going. However, you’re always welcome to cancel during the trial period for a full refund.
